Here are my notes on the different screens available for the iPhone range

Firstly, people often ask me if I fit Apple screens! Just so you know, Apple don't actually make/manufacture anything, like screens and batteries. These items are all made by Apple contractors in China/Taiwan and sometimes Japan. And Apple don't sell spare parts. So the only way to get an 'Apple' screen is to go to Apple!

OEM screens - These are closest to originals, otherwise known as 'Original Equipment Manufacturers'. These screens are manufactured by companies that either make the originals or are licensed to make the screens the same way the originals are made. These screens will not carry any logos of the original brand, so there will be no Apple logos on these screens. These are generally the best available screens but are relatively expensive compared to some of the other screen lines, but offer great, mostly identical, quality.

Aftermarket screens - This is a minefield as there are lots of varying quality's of aftermarket screens, sometimes called 'copy' screens. On iPhones that use OLED screens, the aftermarket replacements will be LCD screens, which are used on the majority of the older iPhones. I'll post more on this soon.

OLED screens - on some of the latest iPhone models (iPhone X, XS, XS Max, 11Pro, 11Pro Max, 12 range, 13 range etc), the screen technology has changed to OLED. You can get what is called 'soft' and 'hard' OLED and these are quite close to the original screens. Soft OLED are more expensive and are a better match to the original OLED screens. Hard OLED are an aftermarket OLED screen and are more fragile than soft OLED and are more problematic in my experience. (I don't use or fit hard OLED!)
Soft OLED are the best replacements but are expensive. I can fit these screens so please enquire about prices.

Refurbished screens - Original screens which work well but have cracked front glass can be refurbished by specialist suppliers. So an original screen is stripped apart and the front glass is resealed onto the original display. Generally very good quality and are cheaper than OEM or original screens, although they are almost identical to originals.I sometimes have a range of these screens - same price as OEM but are generally better quality.

Original 'Pulled' screens - These are original screens taken from faulty or returned devices where the screens are in good condition. Generally used for the newest range and are quite expensive.

From X onwards, these are aftermarket screens of best quality - enquire for OEM/original refurb prices
Repairs can also be combined at a lower cost. e.g. screen & battery is cheaper than just adding these prices together.
